To broad of a topic to be condensed in a 40-50 page booklet in my opinion .
I found this to be not as good as the Panther and Jagdpanther series. The color profiles which are so good in the others, were fair in this one. Many photo captions are generic "PZ4 ausf. H in 1944". The scale models are good. I would make a separate book on the variants (Jagdpanzer 4, Hummel, Nashorn etc).

Excellent resource for the scale model builder. The color profiles are almost worth the purchase price; and , coupled with the history you have a bargain.
This is the weakest book in the Tankcraft series I've seen thus far, mainly because it tries to cover too much in one volume. The Pz.IV was the most widely-used German tank of the war, used in every campaign in the ETO/MTO from 1939 to 1945, and to cover all of that in one book is impossible. The Tiger and Panther, which were far less numerous and had shorter careers, are to be covered in multiple volumes (4 announced for the Tiger thus far), and the Pz.IV should have received similar coverage. And the publisher made matters worse by squeezing in some of the self-propelled guns mounted on the Pz.IV chassis!The book does have some value of course, particularly in showing available kits and accessories, but I ask the publisher to consider withdrawing this book from circulation and replacing it with at least 4 volumes to do the Pz.IV correctly!
