It’s a fun, quirky and snarky read with unique characters that is low on the angst and fill with a lot of heart. Once I dove in, I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next with Jay and Shelby and when everything was said and done, I was really happy, but really wanted there to be more words to read so I could see where the next stage of their journey would take them.I adored Jay and Shelby. Jay is a good guy who hasn’t fully stepped into the adulting realm, which I could totally understand. He’s laid back, funny and despite some of his short comings, a sweetheart and then there is Shelby. Shelby is...unique, and there is a part of me that wants to tell all, but she is someone you need to experience in all her quirky, unique and at times extreme glory.As for their friends to lovers journey. I honestly loved how everything played out with them. There was no doubt they were best friends, and I loved their interactions, they had me rolling my eyes and cracking up constantly, but I also got why they were both hesitant to “go there†with being more than. Their hang ups were real, but so was the fact that if they did take that next step that they’d be awesome together and they were. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them take those first steps and loved how everything worked out for them in the end.This really was a fun read filled with all the things that I’ve come to love about this author: quirky, but well written characters, humor, snark ~ sometimes OTT (though not so OTT in this one) ~ but always funny, and just the right amount of smexyness to make things heat up, while staying true to who the characters are. As for the supporting cast of characters, I loved Brie, Sean and both Jay and Shelby’s family's, but Gram definitely takes the cake. She was awesome! Another Fantastic Rom-com by Emma Hart! Shelby and Jay are hysterical. Shelby is a struggling writer who needs help paying rent. Her best friend Jay is already staying there so... This is a best friends to lovers story! This story is funny, sexy and all around entertaining! I couldn't put it down! Emma has a way of making you fall in love with all of her characters! You will love this book!
As always, this was a hysterical comfort from start to finish! I count on Emma Hart to keep me giggling and still give me the hand on chest, heavy sigh swoon, and The Roommate Agreement did not disappoint!This one was a cute tumble from best friends to more, and I kinda wanna go back and start it all over!5 star read like always!!! The Roommate Agreement is the latest RomCom from Emma Hart, and as usual, she had me laughing from beginning to end.Shelby & Jay have been best friends for 20 years until he moved in and proved to be the worst roommate ever. Now it's all she can do to not strangle him. While she's not dreaming about kissing him. Developing a crush on your best friend isn't ideal, and when he's also your roommate things can get a bit awkward.These characters were so much fun, their chemistry undeniable and their banter addicting. Shelby's rules and Jay's lack of cleaning knowledge had me in tears I was laughing so hard, and even with some minimal dram thrown in, the comedic aspect stayed until the very end.If you're looking for a light, fun book this is definitely it!

I'm in awe of Emma Hart! Her romcoms are one of the things that brings me unmitigated joy and laughter, and she succeeded again with Shelby and Jay and this most unconventional road to romance. I heart a good friends-to-lovers book and the friendship between these two is going strong (around 20 years). These two are the very definition of polar opposites (besides the actual north and south poles). So what happens when two lifelong best friends are now roommates? Comedy. That's what happens. The admittance of feelings that might, possibly, go beyond mere friendship. I loved the banter between Shelby and Jay, and the inner dialogue of both characters was pretty funny as well.
This book was so much fun. You have Shelby and Jay who have been best friends for 20 years and have been living together for three months. They start to have feelings for each other but are afraid to say anything because they don't want to jeopardize their friendship. Throw in his best bud and her best girlfriend who are a couple and their crazy families and you have a book with humor, touching parts, some heat and more humor. I thoroughly enjoyed their journey to their HEA. Watch out for the yellow submarine penis.
