My Aspie boy loves, loves, loves Star Wars, reading and origami. He has every book in the "Origami Yoda" series: both physical versions and Kindle versions. He enjoys the stories and the origami is a wonderfully, sneaky way to strengthen his fine motor skills.Bonus: Tom Angleberger, the author, is also an Aspie - and a kind man, to boot. He commented on an Instagram picture of my boy with his Origami Yoda creations, causing much squealing, hand-flapping hero-worshiping joy.
my son loves this whole book series! he was not really in to Star Wars before. we found one of these books at a yard sale and , BOOM! instant obsession. he has since seen every Star Wars movie. he reads every one of these books COVER TO COVER at least twice! we have origami SW characters all over our house. as they say, "you can't swing a cat without hitting" one.Han Foldo, Art 2 D2, Darth Paper... the gangs all here!I am so thankful to the genius author of these books! You have renewed my sons love of reading. We are getting the books that we don't have for Christmas. I hope that there will e a future book for BB8, his favorite character.I would HIGHLY recommend these books to any parent who has a young boy. They both get to practice reading (an important thing) AND learn origami, the ancient Japanese art of paper folding. i have found these books these books to not only be entertaining for my son, but educational and enriching. bravo!
My 10 yr old son - who normally can't be pulled away from Fortnite - loves this origami stuff. He's even created a little origami club at his school with some friends. It all started because of this book. He's now read them all. I also recommend the author's website. Some of the origami can be difficult but I think that's good...it's teaching him persistence.
First, super fast shipping, which was terrific. We love Angleberger's Origami Yoda series and this was the last book we needed. My daughter is 8 and is very interested in Star Wars and the private lives of middle schoolers. This book came with origami paper, so now she can make "official" puppets. Happy, happy!
Birthday present along with origami paper... it was a huge hit. This also teaches how to sketch an origami character, so it is more than just folding instructions. Instructions (by an 8 year old's report) are clear and easy to follow - with fun additions.
My son loves this book/series. He had seen these at school at the beginning of the year and could not wait to get one of his own. He loves to doodle and this has combined his love of Star Wars and drawing. As a mom I am very happy to see him reading and drawing, two things he truly loves. We plan to purchase the whole series.
My 8 yr old loves origami and wanted this so badly for Christmas. There's places to draw in the book and color. Originally borrowed from library, but this made his list and he's thrilled to have his own version.
Excellent book that inspires artistic practice. My 9 year old son spent hours reading this, trying out the activities and it even inspired him to make characters of his own. We have boxes full of origami characters, and he prefers to play with them rather than his store-bought toys.And, of course, like all Tom Angleberger's books, it's a blast to read. His characters all a little nutty, yet totally relatable.
