I have a "study" Bible (KJ version) that is great but you have to keep leaving your place to go see if there are footnotes. I still like it but this book you can read much faster with more understanding. The actual scriptures (KJ version) are listed with verse numbers as in the Bible but he interjects commentary (in italics) along the way. For example, as you are reading you come across a word they is common confusing and he will have the meaning in parenthesis and italics. An example is the word sepulchre (tomb)...I can't put it in italics here. He does this for phrases as well. Items of key note are written in bold and he will often have 1 or more paragraphs included to either give you background or clarify a passage. I am liking it so much I bought 2 more of his books. I find that I am spending more time reading the scriptures this way. I highly recommend it. --AmazonLove David J. Ridges books. This one is no exception. I'm loving this study guide. I have a "study" Bible (KJ version) that is great but you have to keep leaving your place to go see if there are footnotes. I still like it but this book you can read much faster with more understanding. I’ve been using this as I study as a guild to use along side the “come follow me†study aid the Church of Jesus Christ put out for 3 months now. Because of that I don’t read in order but skip around between the 4 books. That makes this study guild very repetitive some weeks. Because the 4 books share many of the same stories the insights often are the same just worded a little different. That being said I still enjoy using it and often take photos of little snippets within the book to share with my family during our scripture discussions or to text my family within our scriptures messaging chat.

I find that the books on The Standard Works of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by David J. Ridges are the most helpful to me of any other sources I've experienced. I thank the Lord pretty much daily for Brother Ridges and the great work he's done. I read from his works daily and am currently in Part One of The Testament Made Easier. I've read it before but am reading it again in conjunction with the current gospel doctrine course of study. I've read daily from The Book of Mormon series for years. All wonderful books!

I love the book as it really clears up some questions and makes the scriptures clearer. I also have the Book of Mormon ones. BUT, I ordered a new copy and I could tell by the cover and few pages that it wasn't new. Condition wasn't bad or marked up, but had bent pages and cover.
I love this book. I have a hard time understanding the scriptures and I find myself having to go back to re-read sections because I have no idea what I had just read. This book helps you understand what is being read with each verse. It helps me put it into perspective and it makes it much easier for me to put the message and use it in my own life. I would definitely buy it again!
Makes the scriptures more real. I recommend all his "made easier" books to everyone who earned too better understand the scriptures.
